A monumental old mansion, four self-catered units, and a garden full of birds — five minutes from the ocean, in Lima's artist quarter.
Casa de Leeuw is a fantastic old colonial house — French libertine in style — built in 1912 and still standing on the most storied avenue in Barranco, across from the ambassador's residence and a stone's throw from the five-star hotel next door.
The property is really two houses. The main mansion holds one apartment and one bedroom on the ground floor, shown personally by the owner on request. In the garden behind it stands a second building — once a lookout point over Barranco, now home to two private rooms and a garden apartment.
Every unit is different, self-catered, and entered independently: a private terrace, hot shower, and a home of your own, far from home. Our host Fenny and her staff have welcomed travellers, expats, and film crews through this garden for over two decades.
Comfortable orthopedic beds, private bathrooms, and an independent entrance to each — cosy, quiet, and built for both long stays and short ones.
Fully equipped and independently entered, ideal for expats and long-term stays — a kitchen, a living space, and a terrace of your own.
The garden building's mini-apartment — once Barranco's lookout point, now a private kitchenette and terrace facing the mansion.
A short-stay room in the garden house — private bathroom, hot shower, and a balcony that catches the morning light.
Its neighbour, quieter still — its own entrance, its own quirks of decor, and the same garden just outside the door.
Casa de Leeuw doubles as a location for the entertainment industry — aesthetically pleasing spaces, stylish decor, and flexible facilities that work as backdrops without needing to be styled first.
For guests continuing on through the country, our longtime partner Aventuras de Oro has organised tailor-made private trips across Peru for over 25 years — off-the-beaten-track stays and guides who know the highlights beyond the postcard.
